The Writer, Cook and Marketer

Dan Eizans is the type of person who delves into everything that mildly interests him. He reads, experiments, tries and fails until he can discuss it to death, much to the chagrin of his wife and few friends who still bother talking to him. He possesses no formal culinary training, but spent enough time in the kitchen with his mother (a fabulous cook in her own right) and other members of his family to know his reductions from his roux. When he’s not filling his home with strange smells, Dan is a digital strategist and associate editorial director for an ad agency’s publishing group. (Should you care what he looks like, that’s Dan and wife Vita below.) Dan also has his own Web site and maintains a separate blog there on marketing, technology and advertising. It’s also the home to his professional profile and social networking links.

The Wife

Vita is a surgical student, Dan’s handler and best friend. She’s snarky, good with a chef’s knife and loves chocolate. She’s also a great cook on the all-too rare occasions Dan lets her work in his space. She loves mushrooms, vegetarian dishes, organic foods, baklava and getting on Dan’s nerves.


The Tools

Daniel cooks with All-Clad Stainless Steel cookware and cuts with WÜSTHOF Grand Prix II knives. His kitchen is also home to a fabulous Kitchen Aid Artisan Stand Mixer in Empire Red. He’s more than willing to test anything sent his way though and will be happy to review them via Diary of a Would-be Chef.


The Site

The site is powered by WordPress, some plugins, insomnia and the occasional glass of wine. The template was a freebie that I’ll definitely modify later. I write primarily about recipes I’ve either invented or tried, but toss in the occasional discovery, restaurant review and links to other food blogs or my wine journal over at Cork’d.
